Mini Day-Off Payment
In celebration of the “International Day of Women & Girls in Science” we’ll explore women’s contributions to the fields of biology, engineering, and ecology through experiments and animal encounters (and end the session with marshmallows around the campfire!). Though we’re celebrating women in science, everyone is welcome! Children should dress for the weather and plan on spending the afternoon entirely outdoors. 4:00-6:00pm. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in a Wildlife Hospital? Are you curious about what goes into the process of rehabilitating injured and/or orphaned wild animals? Now is your chance to go behind-the-scenes and find out! Join one of our state licensed wildlife rehabilitators for brunch (bagels, doughnuts, coffee and tea) followed by an in-depth discussion and tour of our Wildlife Hospital and outdoor rehabilitation enclosures. These facilities are not open to the general public – this is a rare opportunity to tour them with a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Pricing is $50 per person. This experience is geared for ages 15 and up only. Face masks are required for the duration of the program except when eating.

A fun-filled day for the whole family! Go wild for our wildlife programs, live music, canoeing, food, games, crafts, campfire & more! Great for children ages 3 & up!
Day of Timeline:
- Canoeing on the Cedar Run Lake: 10:00am – 2:45pm(advanced sign-up day of the event) Canoeing on Cedar Run Lake will be available in 20-min. time slots. Space is limited. Please sign-up at the Canoe dock to reserve a time. Life jackets are required for all participants when canoeing.
- Hunters of the Sky (Raptor) Educational Program: 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm
- Storytime with a Wildlife Resident: 10:45am, 12:45pm (20-25 min.)
- Guided Trail Hike: 10:30am, 1:00pm
- Resident Animal Tour: 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm
- Reptile Encounter Program: 11:45am, 1:45pm, 2:15pm (20-25 min.)
- Most events, unless otherwise noted, run approximately 30-35 minutes.
- Registration includes refuge admission for the day including our Wildlife Housing Area and hiking trails. Please explore as you’d like outside of the scheduled activities.

Just in time for hoots & spooks of Halloween! Only the bravest will dare to explore Cedar Run on our haunted guided family daytime hikes!
Learn a bit more about the Legend of New Jersey’s famous Jersey Devil, as well as other cryptids, and hope he does not make an appearance while you are deep in the woods. We will read the story, and walk through the sets during the daytime. There are no actors during this time, only the decor. So no jump scares, so all can enjoy!
Geared towards the littles (ages 4 & up).

Timed Haunted Night Hikes
- Guided hikes will run between 20-30 minutes long, and will be a guided walking hike.
- Recommended to arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled guided hike, and will promptly begin at the scheduled time.
- Limited space of 16 per timed guided hike. Advanced registration is required.
- Dogs and other pets are prohibited, except clearly marked service animals. This is due to the safety of our wildlife animals, for special events and daily visits.

- All children must be accompanied by an adult during the duration of the guided hike.
