NOW HIRING: Bilingual (Spanish) Environmental Educator
- We are seeking an individual to be part of our Environmental Education Team.
- Work for a non-profit that greatly impacts our community beyond the property lines of Cedar Run.
- The Environmental Educator implements Cedar Run’s environmental education efforts including Refuge-on-Wheels programs, on-site programs, virtual programs, and the care of Wildlife Ambassadors. This position works directly with volunteers and the public to ensure quality experiences.
- Evening and weekend hours are required. Part-time position, as needed & scheduled by Director of Education.

FULL TIME PAID INTERNSHIP
NOW SEEKING: Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Internship
The Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Internship is designed to provide hands-on experience and training in three key areas: wildlife rehabilitation, environmental education, and nonprofit development. This position supports Cedar Run’s mission to preserve New Jersey’s native wildlife and habitats while offering a well-rounded educational experience. Interns will assist in the care of wildlife patients, including medical treatments, diet preparation, and routine cleaning, while gaining valuable skills in wildlife rehabilitation. In addition, interns will support environmental education initiatives by facilitating on-site and off-site educational programs, working with the public, and helping care for the Cedar Run Wildlife Ambassadors. This internship also includes an introduction to nonprofit development, providing opportunities to assist with fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and event planning, contributing to Cedar Run’s long-term strategic goals. Interns will work closely with staff across departments, ensuring a diverse and immersive learning experience that aligns with the organization’s commitment to conservation, education, and wildlife rehabilitation. Evening and weekend hours are required.
INTERNSHIPS
NOW SEEKING: Wildlife Enrichment/Behavior Internship
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, creative individual to work
a combined internship in animal care and enrichment/behavior. Interns will assist with some direct animal care within our Wildlife Hospital but will have a large focus on environmental enrichment with relation to our permanent resident wildlife and patients preparing for release. Assignments will include; feeding, cleaning, medicating, and otherwise providing care for injured and orphaned wildlife (this includes dishes and laundry); developing and preparing enrichment items for various species; upkeep of enrichment items and the enrichment area; behavioral observation; learning training techniques with Enrichment Specialist. A final enrichment-focused project is required at the completion of the internship. Internships are unpaid, but can be used for college credit.
NOW SEEKING: Stewardship & Facilities Internship
The Stewardship and Facilities Intern is responsible for stewardship, repair, and maintenance functions, including all buildings and grounds related issues. The Stewardship and Facilities Intern will work closely with the Stewardship and Facilities Manager to satisfy the buildings and grounds needs for all departments, increase the visual appeal, resource management and functionality of all buildings, trails, gardens, roads, and enclosures. This position will also participate in volunteer coordination for scheduled work groups, as needed. Tasks may include trail maintenance, carpentry, gardening, etc. Evening and weekend hours may be necessary on occasion. Internships are unpaid, but can be used for college credit.
NOW SEEKING: Wildlife Care Intern
The Wildlife Care Intern will work primarily with the Director of Wildlife Rehabilitation and Cedar Run’s Wildlife Care Team on efforts required to assist with direct animal care in our Rehabilitation Hospital and our environmental enrichment program. Assignments will include; feeding, cleaning, medicating, and otherwise providing care for injured and orphaned wildlife (this includes dishes and laundry); answering the telephone and giving information; returning phone calls about animal concerns; and all other aspects of the Refuge.
NOW SEEKING: Environmental Education Intern
The Environmental Education Intern will work primarily with the Director of Education on efforts required to assist with all stages of education programs, including research, preparing lesson plans and presentations, and animal care and handling.
NOW SEEKING: Non-Profit Marketing & Development Intern
The Non-Profit Marketing and Development Intern will work primarily with the Director of Development and Communications on efforts required to assist with all stages of marketing campaigns for events and fundraising efforts, including drafting proposals, preparing presentations and researching consumer trends to identify marketing needs.
NOW SEEKING: Social Media Intern
The Social Media Intern will play a key role in enhancing Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge’s online presence and engagement. By creating compelling content and managing social media platforms, the intern will help educate the public about our mission, share the stories of the wildlife we care for, and inspire community involvement in conservation efforts. This position provides an opportunity for hands-on learning in nonprofit social media strategy while directly contributing to the growth and success of Cedar Run’s outreach initiatives.
NOW SEEKING: Graphic Design Intern
The Graphic Design Intern will work primarily with the Director of Development and Communication in assisting with creation of visual content for social media, website, printed material, organization signage, and other marketing initiatives.
