Cost and Payment

To view the cost and payment options please refer to the brochure or registration form for your student’s school.

Weather

Classes will be held outdoors under cover when the weather is appropriate, otherwise we will be inside a classroom/the library. Closings of the school will also cancel after-school programs.
Please be sure your child is adequately prepared for weather conditions including rain, snow, sun, cold, and heat.

Class times

Programs will run after the normal school day ends and continue until late bus/chaperone pickup. For individual times please contact the after-school coordinator.

Expected Behavior

School rules will still be expected to be followed at all times during the program. We have additional rules with regards to our animal ambassadors. Any time that animal ambassadors are present the students will be reminded about our rules. Both the safety of the students AND of our animal ambassadors are of utmost importance. Students that cannot follow the rules may be asked to leave the program without a refund.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

How do I sign up?
Each school is processed separately. Some districts will be processed via your school while others can be processed with Woodford Cedar Run. Please refer to your schools brochure to find out which method is required for your student.

How much is it?
Please refer to your schools brochure for list pricing.

How do I pay for the program?
If your registration is processed through Woodford Cedar Run please fill out our registration form where we can take your credit card information. All fees will be processed by Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.

Will there be live animals?
While we cannot guarantee that every program will feature live animal ambassadors, when available they will be included at least partially into the day’s schedule.

Can my children touch the animals?
The State of New Jersey is a “No Touch” state. This means that due to strict limitations on our federal and state education permits no one is permitted to touch our animals for any reason. However, we often use elements, such as feathers, wings, pelts and talons to aid in our discussions, which students ARE permitted to touch. Additionally, we DO NOT fly our birds and all animals will always be restrained for the duration of our presentation.

How can my school get involved with this program?
We would love to work with you to bring Cedar Run’s After-School program to your school! If you are interested in having us come to your school, please email education@cedarrun.org with your school’s After-School Coordinator or PTA organization. We will contact them and find the best options for coming out.
