Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in a Wildlife Hospital? Are you curious about what goes into the process of rehabilitating injured and/or orphaned wild animals? Now is your chance to go behind-the-scenes and find out! Join one of our state licensed wildlife rehabilitators for brunch (bagels, doughnuts, coffee and tea) followed by an in-depth discussion and tour of our Wildlife Hospital and outdoor rehabilitation enclosures. These facilities are not open to the general public – this is a rare opportunity to tour them with a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Pricing is $50 per person. This experience is geared for ages 15 and up only. Face masks are required for the duration of the program except when eating.
**Advanced registration required – program size limited to 20 guests!**
Come out to the Refuge the second Sunday of each month for our Family Nature Club Meet-up. Each month we’ll have a different self-guided seasonal activity for families to complete on their own or with other Nature Club families. Stop in the Nature Center to pick-up the day’s material kit then head out to our Nature Playscape to join other families or right out onto the trail with your own group. 11am start for meet-up (or arrive between 10am-noon to adventure on your own). Advanced registration is not required, but kit availability is limited to 10 families. $5/per kit. Family Nature Club kits do not include Refuge admission.
Nature play is playing WITH nature, not just IN nature, and is a great way to interact with nature no matter your experience level or play style. Run, climb, build, dig, or even just sit and experience the sounds, smells, and sights of the outdoors.
Please no birthday parties or scout programs for these events. If you are interested in hosting a birthday party or scout program at Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge, please check out our website links for Birthday Parties & Scout Programs.
