Younger siblings who are not enrolled in our program are welcome, but please make sure that they are not being disruptive to the other children. If we find a younger sibling is being disruptive to the class, we may ask you to excuse yourself from our program.

As part of a long-term citizen science project, Cedar Run aims to observe the quality and life of one of its most prominent features, Cedar Run Lake. What is Citizen Science? During this project, we will collect physical and chemical samples to determine the biological health and sustainability. This sampling will be done by means of collecting water in specimen cups and performing field tests, and will later entail a macroinvertebrate collection! On June 10th we will be doing a second assessment of our lake.
This event is geared for adults and teens. $15/person. Pricing includes Refuge admission. Advanced registration required.
Come out to the Refuge in celebration of “National Get Outdoors Day” for a Family Nature Meet-up. We’ll have a self-guided activity for families to complete on their own or with other families. Stop in the Nature Center to pick-up the materials then head out to our Nature Playscape to join other families or right out onto the trail with your own group. 11am start for meet-up (or arrive anytime to adventure on your own). Advanced registration is not required.
Nature play is playing WITH nature, not just IN nature, and is a great way to interact with nature no matter your experience level or play style. Run, climb, build, dig, or even just sit and experience the sounds, smells, and sights of the outdoors.
Please no birthday parties or scout programs for these events. If you are interested in hosting a birthday party or scout program at Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge, please check out our website links for Birthday Parties & Scout Programs.
