**NOTE: Volunteers will be asked to pay a one-time non-refundable application fee. Volunteers UNDER 18 will be asked to pay

$20 this fee supports staff time and resources associated with processing and training. Please note: Submission of a volunteer application and application fee does not guarantee a volunteer position at Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.

Volunteers 18 AND OVER will be asked to pay $40, this fee covers the cost of a criminal background check and supports staff time and resources associated with training and processing. This is a criminal history only check, not a credit check. Our insurance mandates this check because we have groups of children on the premises year round. Please note: Submission of a volunteer application and application fee does not guarantee a volunteer position at Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.

Please DO NOT call about volunteer opportunities. Our coordinator also works in the hospital and is usually caring for our wildlife!

Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge does not host police or court ordered community service hours. We do appreciate all types of service, but our status as an education facility prohibits our organization from hosting police or court ordered community service.

Landscape Nature Art Photo Contest
Apr 12 – Apr 18 all-day

Create some beautiful, simple land art using natural materials based on the wonderful sculptures of artists Andy Goldsworthy, Nils-Udo, Richard Shilling, Christina Diana Wenderoth and more! These nature artists create huge pieces of land art in the environment, using all natural objects such as pebbles, twigs, branches, pine cones, mud, leaves and petals.

Photograph your sculpture and “tag” us on Facebook or Instagram, #CedarRunNatureArt for a chance to win a prize. Photos with the most “likes” by midnight on 4/18/2020 will win a year-long Family Membership (already a member? don’t worry we’ll extend your current membership!).

Sculptures can be completed at Cedar Run or at home, but remember to respect Mother Nature and practice social distancing! Objects used must be natural (no man-made items), but remember to not pick, pull, or break anything that is still alive (and don’t take anything home with you)!
