Eww Gross! Come out and embrace all things (and creatures) icky with us as Halloween approaches. Meet a few misunderstood animals that call Cedar Run home and check out some of the interesting and eerie artifacts in our collection. Who’s teeth are those? Where’d that fur come from? And plain old “What is that?!” 10:00-11:30am or 1:00-2:30pm. Ages 5 and up preferred. $15/adult, $10/child; members free (includes refuge admission). Fee includes Refuge admission. Advanced registration required.

Paint a Pumpkin Party
Oct 29 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

PYOP – Paint Your Own Pumpkin at our first pumpkin painting party! Join us in the pavilion for a night of creative fun! Bring your own snacks, drinks, and a pumpkin to paint and decorate. Come with your own ideas or use our inspiration book and stencils to get your creativity flowing. Paint, smocks, stencils, and stickers will be provided.

  • No alcoholic beverages allowed at this event
  • All ages welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event
  • $10 per adult, $5 per child
  • 20 participants maximum. Advanced registration required.

All proceeds from this event goes directly towards supporting Cedar Run’s mission of the preservation and protection of New Jersey’s wildlife and habitats through education, conservation and rehabilitation. When you attend a Cedar Run event, you make a direct impact in our community!

You and Me Preschool

Join us for a fun and engaging program focused on a fun book each month.

We will read, do a craft and head outside on an adventure about the month’s theme. 10-11am. Ages 3-5. $10/child with adult. Space is limited to 12 children.  Advanced registration required.

Science Rocks! Mini Day-Off
Nov 5 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Day off? Get hands-on at Cedar Run! Join us for a full or half day of exciting science experiments, hikes, animal encounters and more!

1st-5th grade. Space is limited to 20 children per group. Children should dress for the weather and plan on spending the day entirely outdoors. Staying all day? Don’t forget to pack a lunch! Advanced registration required.

The day’s theme…Fall Into Fall!
AM Session, 9am-12pm: Best Ways to Travel (migration and seeds)
PM Session, 1-4pm: Pile on the Fun (fall colors and hibernation)

Pricing:
Single session – $24/non-member, $20/member.
Full day (9am-4pm) – $50/non-member, $42/member

Enjoy a guided hike under the darkness of the new moon to visit nocturnal habitats that are home to owls, raccoons, opossums and other wildlife that emerge after dark. 6:00-8:00pm. ADULTS ONLY! $15/person. Advanced registration required.

Brunch with a Wildlife Rehabilitator

Brunch with a Wildlife Rehabilitator @ Medford | New Jersey | United States

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in a Wildlife Hospital? Are you curious about what goes into the process of rehabilitating injured and/or orphaned wild animals? Now is your chance to go behind-the-scenes and find out! Join one of our state licensed wildlife rehabilitators for brunch (bagels, doughnuts, coffee and tea) followed by an in-depth discussion and tour of our Wildlife Hospital and outdoor rehabilitation enclosures. These facilities are not open to the general public – this is a rare opportunity to tour them with a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Pricing is $50 per person. This experience is geared for ages 15 and up only. Face masks are required for the duration of the program except when eating.
