Volunteering
Soon spring will be here and once again the Rehab and Nature Center will become very busy. Volunteer orientations are currently scheduled for Sundays: February 26, March 25, and April 29 at 2:00 pm in the nature center. Volunteers must attend an orientation session before beginning their volunteer time at the Refuge. Volunteers will be asked to pay $10 for a background check. This is a criminal history only check, not a credit check. Our insurance mandates this check because we have school groups on premises year round.
Our volunteers are truly the lifeblood of the organization! Join us to learn valuable skills while helping us to accomplish our mission.
Volunteer opportunities at the refuge include:
- helping to care for the wildlife
-
helping with educational programs
-
greeting visitors at our Nature Center
-
staffing at festival special events
- fundraising
- building & repairing animal enclosures
-
general office work
-
event planning
