Wildlife Release Program

The goal of Cedar Run’s Wildlife Hospital is to successfully rehabilitate and release wildlife back into their natural environment.

Every year our wildlife hospital takes in approximately 4,000 injured or orphaned wild animals that need care or medical attention. Each species requires a slightly different habitat in the wild to survive and a place to call home.

Unfortunately many of our patients cannot be returned to their original homes due to habitat and human disturbance. New Jersey is expanding rapidly and appropriate release sites that will provide the resources our recovered wild patients need to survive are difficult to find, but you can help! We need homeowners/landowners with at least 1/2 acre of property to enroll and allow us to release animals on your property. We need to release everything from song birds and rabbits, to foxes and deer. All property will be screened for appropriateness, and owners will be informed prior to any release.

If you are interested in enrolling your land in our Wildlife Release Program please download, fill out, and return our Wildlife Release Site Application. Please call us at (856) 983-3329 ext. 106 or email Lori Swanson with questions or completed applications.
