Step into a world of wonder and enchantment as we invite you to join us for a magical evening of stargazing and relaxing around the campfire at Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.
Under the vast expanse of the night sky, we’ll gather around a crackling campfire to roast marshmallows and indulge in the classic delight of s’mores. But the true highlight of the evening awaits as we turn our gaze upwards to explore the celestial wonders above. With the assistance of telescopes and our educators, we’ll embark on a journey to discover the wonders of the night sky.
Whether you’re a budding astronomer or simply seeking a moment of tranquility beneath the stars, our event promises an unforgettable experience.

Join us for an exciting opportunity to participate in our Citizen Science Program focused on monitoring water quality. This innovative program invites community members to actively engage in scientific research and contribute to the conservation efforts of our local environment.
As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we are continuing this Citizen Science Program to monitor and protect the water quality of our surrounding ecosystems.
Participants will have the chance to work alongside experienced educators to collect vital data on various water quality parameters, including pH levels, dissolved oxygen content, nutrient concentrations, and turbidity. Through hands-on fieldwork and data collection techniques, participants will gain valuable insights into the health of our local waterways and contribute to ongoing research efforts.
No prior scientific experience is necessary to participate in this program. Whether you’re a seasoned environmentalist or simply curious about the world around you, all are welcome to join our community of citizen scientists. This program offers a unique opportunity to learn about freshwater ecology, environmental monitoring techniques, and the importance of preserving water quality for the well-being of wildlife and humans alike.
By participating in this Citizen Science Program, volunteers will not only contribute to important research efforts but also play a crucial role in the conservation of Cedar Run and its surrounding ecosystems. Together, we can make a tangible difference in safeguarding the water quality for future generations to enjoy.
Program begins at 11:00am and runs approximately 90 mins. This event is geared for adults and teens. $15/person. Pricing includes Refuge admission. Advanced registration required.
