Want an in-person lesson? Have a little more time? The same lesson is available and expanded upon in-person! Get out of the house and join us for a lesson and hike! We’ll be running small group programs on the same topics from 10-11am. Check out “You and Me” for ages 3-5 or “Refuge Ramblers” for ages 6-12.

Get the kids unplugged and outdoors this winter! Take a break from virtual learning and delve into real world learning on Cedar Run’s 171 acres.
- Small group sizes – 8-12 children per group, dependent on age. Masks required when social distancing isn’t possible. Temperature check and health screening at check-in.
- Two days to choose from – Choose from a Wednesday OR Thursday afternoon session (same topic runs each day so please only choose one).
- Two hours of Nature’s classroom time – 1:30-3:30 pm
- Two age groups – K-1st and 2nd-5th. In the event of small groups sizes, groups may combine.
- Sign-up for the whole month and save! Single session: $12/member, $15/non-member; 4 session discount: $40/member, $55/non-member.

Join us for a fun and engaging program focused on a fun book each week. There are two days – Wednesday or Thursday – to choose from to meet your scheduling needs (same lesson runs each day, so please only choose one).
We will read, do a craft and head outside on an adventure about the week’s theme. 10-11am. Ages 3-5. $8/child with adult. Space is limited to 8 children. Face masks are required when social distancing isn’t possible. Temperature check and health screening at check-in. Advanced registration required.

Visitors can join us for Friday night campfires and storytelling, Saturday nature days and guest speakers, and Sunday canoeing, tours and guided hikes. Fees cover a full day of activities. Come for one thing, or see it all!

- Ongoing, 10am-1pm: Wild About Enrichment – Learn about our Wildlife Hospital’s program to enrich our resident animals’ bodies and minds. What projects do they love? How can you help? Try your hand at a craft project to benefit our residents too!
- 11am: Jr Wildlife Defenders – How can kids make a difference to the animals that live near you? What should you do if you find injured wildlife? Learn this and more during this fun play session — get “hands-on” and try out your animal care skills. Bring a stuffed animal of your own to work with. Ages 3-8 preferred.
- 1pm: Resident Animal Meet & Greet – Get up-close and personal with some mystery resident animals. Questions and photos welcome!

- Ongoing, 10am-2pm: Canoeing – Don’t miss this limited experience to paddle on Cedar Run Lake! 20-minute timeslots will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm or 2:30pm: Resident Animal Tour – Been to visit before? First time? Join us for a guided tour of our Wildlife Housing Area and see what you may learn about our resident animals. Sessions begin on the half hour and last about 40 minutes
- 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm or 2:30pm: Family Nature Hike – Join us for a hike through the Refuge with the family! What will we find along the way?
