Refuge Ramblers Payment
Winter is often the best time of the year to locate owls in the forest as they are in the midst of nesting season. Program begins at the Outdoor Pavilion (with heaters!) for an up-close experience with our resident owls followed by a hike on the trail in search of our local species. Please dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes. No flashlights, please. 5:30-7:30pm. Suitable for ages 8 and up. $15/non-member, $5/member. Advanced registration required. This program will fill up!
Join us for a fun and engaging program focused on a fun book each week. There are two days – Wednesday or Thursday – to choose from to meet your scheduling needs (same lesson runs each day, so please only choose one).
We will read, do a craft and head outside on an adventure about the week’s theme. 10-11am. Ages 3-5. $8/child with adult. Space is limited to 8 children. Face masks are required when social distancing isn’t possible. Temperature check and health screening at check-in. Advanced registration required.

Get the kids unplugged and outdoors this winter! Take a break from virtual learning and delve into real world learning on Cedar Run’s 171 acres.
- Small group sizes – 8-12 children per group, dependent on age. Masks required when social distancing isn’t possible. Temperature check and health screening at check-in.
- Two days to choose from – Choose from a Wednesday OR Thursday afternoon session (same topic runs each day so please only choose one).
- Two hours of Nature’s classroom time – 1:30-3:30 pm
- Two age groups – K-1st and 2nd-5th. In the event of small groups sizes, groups may combine.
- Sign-up for the whole month and save! Single session: $12/member, $15/non-member; 4 session discount: $40/member, $55/non-member.

Join us for an evening of floral fun! Make a flower craft, plant a flower to take home, and enjoy a warm fire. Ongoing from 4-7pm. All ages welcome. $5/member, $10/non-member, ages 3 and under free. Face masks are required for the duration of the program for ages 2 and up. Temperature check and health screening at check-in. Advanced registration required.
Enjoy a guided hike under the darkness of the new moon to visit nocturnal habitats that are home to owls, raccoons, opossums and other wildlife that emerge after dark. 6:00-8:00pm. ADULTS ONLY! $10/person. Face masks are required for the duration of the program. Temperature check and health screening at check-in. 20 participants maximum. Advanced registration required.
Join us for a morning of photography. Our trained staff will bring select birds out of their enclosures for photographing up-close and personal on perches and in a natural setting. This program will be limited to 12 participants. Masks required when social distancing isn’t possible. Temperature check and health screening at check-in. 9-11am. $50/member, $60/nonmember. Advanced registration & pre-payment required.
Raptor Photography Session
Experience the refuge in an exciting way, at night! Enjoy a guided hike at night to visit nocturnal habitats that are home to owls, raccoons, opossums and other wildlife that emerge after dark. Be there as the ‘night shift’ awakens. Program begins at the Nature Center. Hike is approximately 1 mile. $10/person. Suitable for ages 8 and up. Advanced registration required.
