The 5th Annual Hoot, Waddle and Stroll 5K Trail Run & Half-Mile Stroll is a fun-filled, family-oriented event to support Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. Cedar Run Refuge, located in the Pinelands of Medford Township, cares for nearly 5,000 animals annually and is also dedicated to educating children about the importance of conserving our shared habitats. Cedar Run also aims to promote outdoor health and wellness for all ages.

5K Trail Run
Goes through rugged single-track trails within the property of Cedar Run and a very small segment on the road. It is a beginner to intermediate mostly flat course with varied terrain and scenic views. This is a great course for first-time trail runners and families! This course is not designed for strollers and participants need to be able to maneuver through tree ruts, steps, bridges, soft sand, etc.
Designed to allow all family members to participate! Less rugged trails suitable for strollers and young children.
7:30-8:45 am: Packet Pick-up and Race Day Registration
9:00 am: 5K Trail Run begins!
9:15 am: Half-Mile Stroll begins!
10:00 am: Award Ceremony
5K Awards will be given out in the following categories:
- Top Fundraising Team
- Fastest Male Overall
- Fastest Female Overall
- Medals also will be given to the TOP 3 male and female finishers in each of the following divisions: 12 and under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+
- Free race t-shirt with unique design guaranteed to those who register for the 5K Run or 1/2 Mile Stroll before 9/13/2019 and then additional participants will receive a Cedar Run tee.

Arrival / Parking
Please make every effort to arrive prior to 8:30 am and we encourage car pooling due to limited parking! Parking will be limited to street parking and our overflow parking lot. The entrance to Cedar Run will be closed 30 minutes prior to the start of the race making the overflow parking lot inaccessible after 8:30 am (unless the locals know how to access the overflow parking lot by Jackson Road!).

Join us for a morning of photography. Our trained staff will bring select birds out of their enclosures for photographing up-close and personal on perches and in a natural setting. This program will be limited to 12 participants. 9-11am. $50/member, $60/nonmember. Advanced registration & pre-payment required.
Raptor Photography Session
Enjoy a special day of programs at the refuge. We will present Raptors and Reptiles at 11am and 1pm. All ages welcome. Program included with the price of admission.
Experience the refuge in an exciting way, at night! Enjoy a guided hike at night to visit nocturnal habitats that are home to owls, raccoons, opossums and other wildlife that emerge after dark. Be there as the ‘night shift’ awakens. Program begins at the nature center. Hike is 1 mile. $10/person. Suitable for ages 8 and up. Advanced registration required.
Join us for a morning of photography for KIDS ONLY! Our trained staff will help children ages 6-13 learn tricks and techniques for photographing wildlife. $12/member, $15/nonmember. 10:00-11:30am. Advanced registration and pre-payment are required.
Join us for a screening of The Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s award-winning documentary – Bird of Prey (synopsis below). Event to run rain or shine inside our outdoor pavilion (don’t worry – we have an outdoor heater if it’s cold!) Guests will enjoy an up-close experience with a few of our resident birds of prey, a bonfire to run throughout the night with marshmallows, and a screening of this spectacular film (popcorn is included!). 6pm-8pm. $15 adult / $10 child. Please feel free to bring your own camping chair (benches and folding chairs provided for those without their own chairs). Advanced registration required – program size limited to 40 guests!

An expertly woven tale with stunning cinematography, Bird of Prey journeys deep into the vanishing world of the Great Philippine Eagle and reveals an inspiring group of people that are determined to save the world’s most critically endangered eagle species from extinction.
Enjoy a full day of fun at Cedar Run. Activities include hiking, games, live animals, crafts and more. Children in K-6th can join us from 9am-3pm. $60/day per child. Register for both days and save. Advanced registration required.
FREE refuge admission for all retired and active military. Please present your ID at the nature center. We thank you for your service.
Program begins inside the nature center for an up-close experience with our resident owls followed by a hike on the trail in search of our local species. Suitable for ages 8 and up. 6-8pm. $12/member, $15/non-member. This program will fill up! Advanced registration required.

Join Cedar Run staff and volunteers at Moorestown’s Barnes and Noble’s (1311 Nixon Drive, Moorestown) gift wrapping event. We will be on hand all day assisting you with gift wrapping your purchases. An ambassador or two may make an appearance as well!
Come join us (a day early!) in celebrating the Winter Solstice here at Cedar Run. The shortest day and longest night of the year hold many traditions in anticipation of the sun’s return. Celebrate with us by enjoying a campfire with marshmallow roasting and by making a Winter Solstice lantern to bring the light home with you. Activities ongoing from 3:00-4:30pm. All ages welcome. $8/person. Ages 3 and under and members free. No registration needed!
Winter is the perfect time for owl spotting. Join us on the shortest day of the year–Winter Solstice–for a fun Owl Prowl at Cedar Run! Program begins at the nature center. Begins at 4:30-6:00pm. $12/adult, $10/child. Suitable for ages 8 and up. Advanced registration required.
