Owl-O-Ween Fun at Cedar Run
Oct 23 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

 

No tricks here! Dress up in your Halloween costumes & enjoy an afternoon trick-or-treating at our wildlife enclosures, along with a Halloween movie, costume contest, games, crafts, food & more! It is going to be a hoot! Great for children ages 3 & up!

Cedar Run will be closed to the public for general admissions on Saturday, 10/23 at 1pm to get ready for Owl-O-Ween.

Doors open at 3:00pm

  • Pre-register for our Kid’s Costume Contest (see categories below)

3:00pm – 6:00pm

  • Games
  • Halloween Crafts & Coloring
  • Cozy Campfire (marshmallow roasting kits will be sold)

3:15pm – 5:15pm

  • Trick-or-Treating, at the Wildlife Housing Area
  • Family-friendly Halloween Movie, at the Nature Center parking lot

5:15pm – Kid’s Costume Contest, at the Pavilion

    • Funniest Costume
    • Most Original Costume
    • Best Overall Costume
    • Best Family/Group Costume – up to 5 may enter

Cedar Run for Your Life: Haunted Guided Hikes
Oct 23 @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Just in time for hoots & spooks of Halloween! Only the bravest will dare to explore Cedar Run after dark on our haunted guided night hikes! Learn a bit more about the Legend of New Jersey’s famous Jersey Devil, and hope he does not make an appearance while you are deep in the woods.

Sit around a campfire roasting marshmallows & watch a Halloween movie… if you survive…
Geared toward ages 10 and up.

Rain or shine.

Timed Haunted Night Hikes:
PRE-REGISTRATION CLOSED ON FRIDAY 10/22/21.

  • Doors open at 7:00pm. Enjoy a cozy campfire & Halloween movie while you wait for your hike.
  • Guided hikes will run between 20-30 minutes long, and will be a guided walking hike.
  • Recommended to arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled guided hike, and will promptly begin at the scheduled time.
  • Limited space of 16 per timed guided hike. Advanced registration required.
  • Every participant for the guided hike will need to sign a waiver before participating in the hike. Not recommended for pregnant women or anyone with a heart condition.

Limited space for each Haunted Guided Hike! Grab your tickets now before they… disappear!

  • $15 per person.
  • Children ages 10-15 must be accompanied by an Adult during the duration of the guided hike.
  • No children under 10 may be permitted on the guided hikes.

In celebration of the “International Day of Women & Girls in Science” we’ll explore women’s contributions to the fields of biology, engineering, and ecology through experiments and animal encounters (and end the session with marshmallows around the campfire!). Though we’re celebrating women in science, everyone is welcome! Children should dress for the weather and plan on spending the afternoon entirely outdoors. 4:00-6:00pm. Grades 4th-8th. $18/non-member, $15/member. Space is limited to 15 children per group. Advanced registration required.

Now is your chance to go behind-the-scenes and find out! Join one of our state licensed wildlife rehabilitators for brunch (bagels, doughnuts, coffee and tea) followed by an in-depth discussion and tour of our Wildlife Hospital and outdoor rehabilitation enclosures. These facilities are not open to the general public – this is a rare opportunity to tour them with a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Pricing is $50 per person. This experience is geared for ages 15 and up only. Face masks are required for the duration of the program except when eating.
