No tricks here! Dress up in your Halloween costumes & enjoy an afternoon trick-or-treating at our wildlife enclosures, along with a Halloween movie, costume contest, games, crafts, food & more! It is going to be a hoot! Great for children ages 3 & up!

Cedar Run will be closed to the public for general admissions on Saturday, 10/22 at 2pm to get ready for Owl-O-Ween.

Cedar Run for Your Life: Haunted Guided FAMILY DAYTIME Hike

Oct 28 @ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Just in time for hoots & spooks of Halloween! Only the bravest will dare to explore Cedar Run on our haunted guided family daytime hikes!

Learn a bit more about the Legend of New Jersey’s famous Jersey Devil, as well as other cryptids, and hope he does not make an appearance while you are deep in the woods. We will read the story, and walk through the sets during the daytime. There are no actors during this time, only the decor. So no jump scares, so all can enjoy!

Geared towards the littles (ages 4 & up).
Rain or shine.

Timed Haunted Night Hikes

Guided hikes will run between 20-30 minutes long, and will be a guided walking hike.
Recommended to arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled guided hike, and will promptly begin at the scheduled time.
Limited space of 16 per timed guided hike. Advanced registration is required.
Dogs and other pets are prohibited, except clearly marked service animals. This is due to the safety of our wildlife animals, for special events and daily visits.

Limited space for each Haunted Guided Hike! Once they go on sale, grab your tickets now before they… disappear!

$10 per family (up to 4). Children 3 and under are free.
$4 per additional family member.
All children must be accompanied by an adult during the duration of the guided hike.
Costumes are encouraged but not required.
The daily admission fee is additional if you wish to walk additional trails and our Wildlife Housing Area.

Timed Haunted Night Hikes

Doors open at 6:00 pm, and guided tours will begin at 6:30 pm.
The sunset for this evening will be around 6:00 pm.
Enjoy a cozy campfire & Halloween movie while you wait for your hike. Marshmallow Roasting Kits (regular & vegan) will be available for purchase.
Guided hikes will run between 20-30 minutes long, and will be a guided walking hike.

Every participant in the guided hike will need to sign a waiver before participating in the hike. Not recommended for pregnant women or anyone with a heart condition.
Flashlights are allowed in our parking lot area, but cannot be used during the experience of guided hike.

ReDiscovery Weekend: Friday Fun!

ReDiscover Cedar Run this spring! There’s something for everyone during these 2 exciting days in the wild! Fees cover a full day of activities. Come for one thing, or do it all!

Day of Timeline – Friday, April 7th:

Ongoing, 10am-4pm – Trivia Scavenger Hunt: How well do you know Cedar Run? Come try our Trivia Scavenger Hunt! Get a question sheet from the front desk and search Cedar Run for the answers. Come back with all the right answers and win a prize! Self-guided.
10:30am OR 12:30pm – Pond Dipping: Delve into the world of macro-invertebrates with us! Macros are insect larvae and nymphs, snails, and aquatic insects that live in the water and are able to be seen by the naked eye. What kind of things are living in Cedar Run lake? Stop by and check out what we’ve
collected and try your hand at finding some creatures of your own!
Ongoing, 11am-2pm – Make-and-Take: Have a little downtime between events? Check out our day’s make-and-take craft. Complete it now or take it home for later. Self-guided.
11am, 1pm OR 3pm – Wildlife Ambassador Meet and Greet: Get up-close and personal with some mystery resident animals. Questions and photos are welcome! ASL interpretation provided for this event.
12pm OR 2pm – Fairy Shelters: Try your hand at building a shelter for a forest fairy. This activity is best for our youngest guests, but fun for all ages!
Ongoing, 2-6pm – Canoeing*: Don’t miss this limited experience to paddle on Cedar Run Lake! 20-minute timeslots will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Self-guided. *Additional sign-up required.
2:30pm – Stream Study: We will collect samples to determine the health of the stream at Cedar Run. Try your hand at being a “Citizen Scientist!”
3:30pm OR 5pm- Wildlife Ambassador Animal Tours: Been to visit before? First time? Join us for a guided tour of our Wildlife Housing Area and see what you may learn about our resident animals. Sessions last about 40 minutes. ASL interpretation provided for this event.
6-7pm – Campfire: Enjoy a lovely time by the campfire. Marshmallows included!
7-8:30pm – Night Hike*: Experience the Refuge in an exciting way, at night! Enjoy a guided hike under the light of the moon to visit nocturnal habitats that are home to owls, raccoons, opossums, and other wildlife that emerge after dark. *Additional sign-up required.

ReDiscovery Weekend: Spring Saturday

Day of Timeline – Saturday, April 8th:

10am OR 1pm – Raptor Egg Hunt*: Have you ever heard of the Easter Raptor? Join us as we learn all about him during this fun adaptation of a traditional egg hunt! Appropriate for ages 2-10. Hunt will be a staggered start by age (ages 2-4, 5-7 and 8-10). *Additional sign-up required.
Ongoing, 10am-1pm – Make-and-Take: Have a little downtime between events? Check out our day’s make-and-take craft. Complete it now or take it home for later. Self-guided.
Ongoing, 10am-2pm – Natural Egg Dyeing: While supplies last!

2pm – Guided Hike: Join us for a hike through the Refuge with the family! What will we find along the way?

2023 Wine & Wildlife Fundraiser

Saturday, July 15th, 2023

Join Cedar Run for an evening of wine tasting, raffles, auctions, along with special appearances by Cedar Run Wildlife Ambassadors.

This evening celebrates those making a difference in our local communities – the staff, resident wildlife, volunteers & supporters of Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge!

Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of New Jersey’s wildlife and habitats through education, conservation, and rehabilitation, and serves as a community resource on the importance of protecting and enhancing healthy ecosystems for all since 1957.

We are partnering up with our friends at Cheers Wine & Spirits of Voorhees to provide tastings from around the world, as well as local favorites! This event is being held at the Community House of Moorestown. A large selection of raffle baskets and silent auction items will be available for bidding throughout the evening, offering the opportunity to win exclusive experiences and merchandise, all while supporting our environmental education, wildlife rehabilitation, and habitat preservation.

General admission includes wine tasting, meet & greet with live Cedar Run resident wildlife, a chance to win great prizes and supporting your local wildlife organization!
Vegan and vegetarian passed appetizers and lite bites will be available throughout the event.

Attendees must be 21 years of age or older. IDs will be checked and wristbands given at the door before entering the event.

The dress code is Smart Casual/Dressy Casual. Basically a combination of casual, business casual & business dress codes, where you can combine them into a “smart” ensemble. Ex. Denim or khakis with a sport coat or blouse/blazer.

Our fundraiser this year is a really special one because we’re adding a selfie booth from DigiBooths! Make sure you stop through, take a few pics and share them to your phone via text or email. If you’re in need of a photo booth, DigiBooths is our first choice!

As a participating sponsor, your organization will benefit from the promotion of the event through email outreach, social media, and other efforts directed to the Wine Tasting attendees and beyond, demonstrating your commitment to our wildlife and local communities. There are four levels of sponsorship detailed on the Sponsorship Form. Please select the level that will best reflect your support. Your tax-deductible sponsorship commitment will be used to help support Cedar Run’s mission to preserve and protect our native wildlife.
