Summer Camp is a Go (WILD)!

After weeks of waiting and planning and prepping and carefully considering all our options and your needs, we can finally announce that Cedar Run Go WILD Summer Camp is a go – mostly. Last Friday, NJ Governor Murphy announced that youth camps would be able to begin on July 6th, a week after our camps typically start. We are still waiting on whatever limitations the state will put on youth camps, but know that we have already prepared plans that include all of the CDC guidelines including sanitization, social distancing, masks, and frequent handwashing.

Until we know if there is a group size restriction, all weeks of camp will only allow 5 campers before a waitlist option kicks in. Please use the waitlist option until we know we can open up the camps to more campers, so we know who signed up first. If you have already signed up for camp, your child is already on the list and already in the camp.

Since it will be hard for our youngest campers to adhere to social distancing guidelines in the best of times, all our half-day camps will be converted to “You and Me” style camps. Counselors will lead you (or your designated babysitter) and your child in a series of fun camp activities each morning.

** We are also introducing Camp Comes Home, a distance learning camp, held throughout the summer on a weekly basis starting June 29th. This camp will use Google Classroom as a hub to show them activities designed to get your camper outside during the day. Registration will include kits with materials to do a number of activities outside, with guidance from one of our experienced camp counselors. Campers will have no more than 2 hours of screen time, during which they will check in with their counselor and other campers, learn a little lesson and get instructions on how to do the activity, then check back in later and get instructions for the end of day activity. Campers should be able to do the activities with little to no adult help, but if they need more instruction, the counselors will be on hand to help them out. Camp Comes Home will be offered for the entire summer as a safe, stay-at-home option for parents and campers.

We’re so excited to be able to bring you new options for summer camp and to be able to provide the kind of camp experience we’ve all been missing. We’re looking forward to a great camp season and to seeing you all soon!
