Wonderful Wildlife Weekends

Visit Woodford Cedar Run’s Pine Barrens Education Center for mini-exhibits and special programs with a monthly theme. Live animals, themed crafts, puzzles and artifacts highlight the topic. Explore the nature trail surrounding beautiful Cedar Run Lake and visit the Refuge’s wildlife residents along the way.

Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm ~ Sundays 1 pm - 4 pm (weekdays 10 am to 4 pm).

Included in Refuge admission: $5 adults, $3 children, three and under free. No reservations needed.

January/February: Secret Weapons and Great Escapes!
Hidden weapons of the animal world!
Secret weapons: tongues, spines, sprays. Great escapes: playing dead, mimic something dangerous, secret exits. Come and learn how animals defend themselves and evade predators.

March: "Backyard Habitats"
Making your backyard wildlife friendly!
Food, water, and cover, does your backyard made the grade when it comes to what wildlife needs? Find out how to set up your own wildlife habitat, to make the animals feel welcome and at home.

April: "Symbiosis" Animals Helping Animals
Working together for survival!
Have you ever seen a frog peeking out of a Pitcher Plant? Did you know that Great Horned Owls don’t build their own nests? Learn about the animals in our area that help each other and discover some of the ways plants and animals cooperate to ensure their own survival.

ECOCLUB! STEWARDS OF THE REFUGE!
Meets every 2nd Saturday morning from 10:00-12:00 at the education center.
Ages 11-16
Explore the ecology of your environment while learning the importance of stewardship.
* Meet other nature lovers.
* Learn about volunteering.
* Hands on experience.
* Investigate the Refuge environment.
No fee to participate.

Animal Escape Artists

Predators! Tricks of the Trade

Predators have many tricks up their sleeves when it comes to fooling their prey. Whether it's amazing speed or stealth behaviors these hunters will do whatever they can to outwit their next meal. In My Backyard

Do you wonder which animals may be in your backyard and want to attract more? Do you have pictures of animals you need identified? Teamwork in Nature

Night Senses

Sight isn't the only thing we use to explore the night time. With the help of our naturalist investigate the use of our other senses in the night hours.

Nocturnal Mysteries

Saturday, April 12th
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Can we see colors at night? What do adhesive tape and mints have in common? How do our nocturnal residents survive in the night? Discover these answers and more as we explore some of the mysteries of the night.

Create a special time for you and your 3 - 5 year old. Together you'll discover nature through age-appropriate games, stories, crafts, and hikes. Come to one session or enroll in the whole series.
Cost: Pre-registration is required @ $8.00 per child w/adult.

Birthday Parties
Birthday parties at Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge are 2 hours long (scheduled from 10AM-12PM or 1PM-3PM). Parties include a live animal talk with our reptiles, and then your choice of either
A- a nature hike, crafts, and games or
B- a guided tour of our non-releasable resident wildlife.
Costs for members are $9/child guest with a minimum of $90.00; non-members are $10/child guest with a minimum of $100.00, Adults and birthday child are free.
We provide place settings for child guests.
