Advanced reservations are required for all groups.

Two to four classes may be scheduled on same day. School purchase orders are accepted.

Payment in full is due upon arrival. Fees are listed under each program title.

LIMIT OF 25 STUDENTS PER NATURALIST FOR ALL PROGRAMS
Survival Could you survive in the wild? Are your needs the same as other animals? Take a hike, use a map and compass, build a debris hut and discover other skills to survive in the forest. Campfire included - weather permitting.

Duration: 2 ½ hours Cost: $8.00 per student with a minimum of $120.00

Tails and Trails Meet the animals that reside at Cedar Run. Compare characteristics of our mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Become
a nature detective on our Pine Barrens trail and explore the habitat these animals live in. Choose one of the following themes or ask for one to go along with your own curriculum: habitats, camouflage, food chains, or animal tracks.

Duration: 2 hours Cost: $5.00 per student with a minimum of $75.00

Nature of the Pines Make your nature programs come alive for your students when you bring them to Cedar Run. Examine the difference between uplands and wetlands and discover the pinelands plants and animals that live here. Play games while focusing on any two of the following topics: habitats, adaptations for survival, camouflage, food chains, animal tracks or plant identification. Let us know if there is something else that you would like to cover.

Wild About Water Experiment with our watershed model to discover how we effect our environment. Before hitting the trail to discover our wetlands area (complete with insectivorous plants), students will play games that show them about water use. Complete the experience by examining macroinvertebrates.

Duration: 3 hours Cost: $8.00 per student with a minimum of $120.00

History and Habitats Explore the Pine Barrens- past and present. Meet 'Pinecone Kate' and let her lead your group back in time to discover the industries of the Pine Barrens long ago. Discover Lenape Indian, 'Redheart', in his hunting camp before continuing to explore our upland and wetland habitats. Great for those studying the Pine Barrens.

Duration: 4 hours Cost: $9.00 per student with a minimum of $135.00

When your students "adopt" one of our wildlife species, they'll be providing a year's worth of food and care. In return, your class will receive:

· Certificate complete with color photo of the animal
· Profiles fact sheet about the species
· Spotlight page that tells an individual animal's story

If your school can't come to the Refuge, our Refuge on Wheels program can come to you! We have trained wildlife experts that can come to your classroom or event with a variety of native Pine Barrens wildlife for a hands on presentation, including:

Raptors & Reptiles Live raptors and reptiles visit your school and excite your students while demonstrating some of their unique characteristics. Artifacts help the student see these animal's adaptations. Learn about their habitats and food chains and how you can help protect them.

Duration: 45 minutes-1 hour Cost: $250.00 for the first show; $225.00 for second show the same day
Limit: 75 students  Recommended for grades 1-5

Hunters of the Sky Bring live hawks and owls to your school for a dramatic presentation. Students become part of the demonstration to highlight the marvelous adaptations of these animals while learning why we need to protect and conserve their habitats.

Duration: 1 hour Cost: $250 for the first show; $225 for second show the same day

Water, Water Everywhere Where does your water come from? Is
there enough to go around? This is an interactive science lesson using an Enviroscape® where every student gets to participate! We even bring a surprise guest from the Refuge.

Duration: 45 minutes-1 hour Cost: $100 for the first show; $85 for the second show the same day
Limit: 25 students per class  Recommended for grades 4-12

NEW! Animal Facts and Fables Learn about different classifications of animals and how their common myths and lures became misconceptions.

Winged Wonders Geared for the younger set, this program will teach the characteristics of our bird friends while introducing the children to a few of our educational raptors.

Owl Stories Students are fascinated by song and stories that teach
them about these nocturnal creatures, but are truly amazed when they meet 2 different types of owls.
