The Elizabeth Woodford Pine Barrens Education Center

The Nature Center and Children's Museum features hands-on exhibits for children, along with live snakes and turtles. Visitors are encouraged to hike the one mile trail around Cedar Run Lake to see the animals in the wildlife rehabilitation compound.

The Center is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. $5 for adults, $3 for children, three & under and members free.

With the opening of the Elizabeth Woodford Education Center on April 25th, 1998, the Refuge has poised itself to deliver an exciting variety of  educational programs.

Exhibits in the Great Room provide information about the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

Younger family members will love the deer couch, puppets and other playful elements on the
glass-enclosed porch overlooking the lake.

A stop at the Exploration Station involves all members of the family in hands-on exploration of natural materials.
