Volunteering

Volunteer Your Time

Our volunteers are truly the lifeblood of the organization! Join us to learn valuable skills while helping us to accomplish our mission.

Volunteer opportunities at the refuge include:

  • helping to care for the wildlife
  • helping with educational programs
  • greeting visitors at our Nature Center
  • staffing at festival special events
  • fundraising
  • building & repairing animal enclosures
  • general office work
  • event planning

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and attend a "Volunteer Information Session." Volunteer Information Sessions are typically held just before the arrival of our wildlife babies in January, February and March. Dates for 2019 are now complete.

During the summer and fall months, we train volunteers on an as needed basis. To submit an interest form, please complete the electronic form below. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Mike O'Malley will get back to you about open positions. Click here for information about various interest areas.

Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge does not host police or court ordered community service hours. We do appreciate all types of service, but our status as an education facility prohibits our organization from hosting police or court ordered community service. For more information click here.
